Day 14

Day thirteen saw a record setting data for the nation of Japan. With Shizuka Arakawa’s gold medal in the women’s figure skating event Japan not only had their first medal at these Winter Games but their first figure skating gold medal ever. Also interesting to note is the lack of medalists from the United States in any of the aerials events in freestyle skiing, a sport with origins in the United States.
